God's Way To Favor
Psalm 1:1-6 "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish."
What is favor? How does a person know that they are walking in the favor of God, the favor of man or both? Here are a few tidbits from a recent Bible class. Favor is like an ocean's wave on the beach; it's either moving toward you or away from you. Favor is not an accident, but a deliberate design by God to reward you for acts of obedience. It is the plan of God to bless you. Blessed is the man who... The first way to obtain favor is, to always please God! The favor normally given by man is designed to manipulate, but God gives favor through obedience! Working for God and winning souls. Favor opens opportunities! Favor is when God causes someone to desire to become a problem solver in your life. Queen Esther found favor from the king to save a generation. Has anybody ever assisted you in your problems? Favor is an attitude of goodness toward you. This is when someone just showers you with goodness. Favor is the willingness, desire and participation of someone to help you advance or obtain something you want. As pastor I want to see God's divine purpose of favor in your life. My purpose is to enable you to achieve your assignment! The Lord is blessing his people here at the Temple! You ought to shout out, stomp your feet and clap your hands for favor!! Your willingness and obedience toward God in everything will bring favor, but your disobedience will make favor leave you! I pray that we grow up in both body and spirit, blessed by both God and people. May you decide to walk in the Lord's wisdom and knowledge to obtain favor!
